The Infamous Masterson’s , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I found behind its threshold was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

The floorboards were filthy, and a nauseating aroma of stale beer and dirty bathrooms suffused the entire venue . With a smell of a mixture of human waste, putrefaction and sour vomit . The main bar, which should be the primary feature of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and debris that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The toilet was in even worse condition —overflowing , with a shattered handle and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was human excrement .

His presence at the bar often appeared as that of a sweating predator than a genial proprietor .
